The dream is for Thorhead to be the first NFT that your technology-indifferent grandpa mints. And with the incredibly low cost, that first mint can be a fun, educational experience.

No. There are extensive details on the math behind this decision here, but the shortest version is: statistically speaking, we will run out of VeThor a million times over before every permutation of Thorhead attributes is minted.

Rarity is calculated based on statistical likelihood of an attribute being selected at random via a weighted distribution (in-depth implementation details can be found here). The lower the percentage chance of that attribute being selected, the higher the rarity value. The final rarity number is a sum of all the attributes' rarity values. Currently, you can ReMint Thorhead by burning three of your Thorhead in exchange for another mint. This exercises the same randomness mentioned above each time. Every mint has the same odds as every other mint.

On the horizon, staking and referral functionality will be added. But, these features will, first and foremost, serve the goal of educating people about these concepts and their technical underpinnings.

Probably never. As stated above, the purpose is to give newcomers to VeChain a low-cost opportunity to interact with the blockchain and begin understanding what makes VeChain so special. So any feature development or project collaboration will serve that end goal.

ReMinting is the process of burning three Thorhead in exchange for a new Thorhead. This new Thorhead is minted using the same randomness as the original mint. This means that every mint has the same odds as every other mint.

ReMinting gives you a chance to potentially get a Thorhead with higher rarity. If you have multiple low-rarity Thorheads, you might want to trade them in for a chance at a more valuable one. It's also useful for managing your collection size while still having a chance at rare attributes like holographic variants.

No. ReMinting uses the same randomness algorithm as the original mint. Every mint has the same odds as every other mint, regardless of whether it's an initial mint or a ReMint.

Unlike the initial minting which costs 100 VTHO, ReMinting only requires you to burn three existing Thorheads. There is no additional VTHO cost and all transaction fees are covered by Thorhead.

Visit the ReMint page and select three Thorhead from your collection that you wish to burn. Click the "Remint Thorhead" button and confirm the transaction with your wallet. After the transaction is processed, your new Thorhead will be displayed.

Yes, any Thorhead you own can be selected for ReMinting, regardless of its rarity. However, you might want to consider keeping Thorheads with high rarity.

The three Thorhead you select for ReMinting are permanently burned (destroyed) and removed from circulation. This process is irreversible, so choose carefully which Thorhead you want to burn.

No, there are no limits to how many times you can ReMint. As long as you own at least three Thorhead, you can ReMint.

Only Thorhead with a rarity over 4000 are eligible for staking.

VTHO rewards based on the rarity of your staked Thorhead. The rewards are distributed proportionally based on your share of the total rarity pool.

No, there are no additional fees for staking or unstaking your Thorhead. All transaction fees are covered by the Thorhead platform.

There is a minimum staking period of 1 day. Once you stake your Thorhead, you must wait 24 hours before you can unstake them.

Staking rewards are distributed in real-time whenever someone mints a new Thorhead. Each mint triggers an immediate distribution of rewards to all current stakers based on their share of the rarity pool.

Rewards are calculated using a pooled rarity system. Your pooled rarity is calculated as: Thorhead Rarity - Staking Threshold (4,000).

Example: If Alice has a Thorhead with 24,000 rarity, Bob has two Thorheads with 14,000 rarity each, and Charlie has ten Thorheads with 5,000 rarity each:

• Alice's pooled rarity: 24,000 - 4,000 = 20,000 points

• Bob's pooled rarity: (14,000 - 4,000) × 2 = 20,000 points

• Charlie's pooled rarity: (5,000 - 4,000) × 10 = 10,000 points

Total pool: 50,000 points

Each staker receives rewards proportional to their share: Alice gets 40%, Bob gets 40%, Charlie gets 20%. So if the mint rewards are 25 VTHO total, Alice and Bob would each get 10 VTHO, and Charlie would get 5 VTHO.
